Pokkén Tournament
Today, Bandai-Namco announced that the Arcade version of Pokkén Tournament would be released soon in Japan. The main goal of that update seems to be bringing this version in line with the Wii U version. For example, Braixen, Garchomp, and Shadow Mewtwo will be added as Battle Pokémon.
Here’s a trailer for the update:
But there’s more: a new Pokkén Tournament Championship Series event has been announced. It will take place at the DreamHack Summer 2016, in Sweden. Since this is a Major event, the prizepool is pretty big, and there’s lots of Championship Points to win.

Pokémon Sun and Moon
Wondering if you will be able to use Event QR Codes from another region than yours in Pokémon Sun and Moon? Unfortunately, it will not be possible, as the QR Codes are apparently region-locked. In other words, scanning a Japanese Event QR code in your European or North American copy of the game simply will not work. It’s not too surprising, since serial codes are also “region-locked” in Pokémon X / Y / Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire.
This week, we got the confirmation that the QR Code found on the Magearna disc from Pokémon Ga-Olé (the arcade game) will only work with the Japanese copy of Pokémon Sun and Moon. But fans in Europe and North America do not need to worry about this particular event: The Pokémon Company already confirmed Magearna would also be distributed outside Japan.
Right now, it’s not clear if this “region-lock” only applies to Event QR Codes, or all QR codes.

Simisear
Simisear is the Pokémon that received the least votes out of 720 existing Pokémon during the Pokémon Elections. As a consolation, it’s going to be distributed in Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores from June 25th to July 15th. The distribution will be for Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.
