Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! – Latest trailer details the Master Trainers

Another week, another trailer for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee!! This one introduces a new feature that was not in the original Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, called Master Trainers.

Those are really special trainers, that only start appearing in Kanto once you have become the Pokémon League Champion. Unlike most regular Pokémon trainers: they only focus on one Pokémon, and they’re considered the strongest for that very Pokémon. The fun twist is that there’s one such trainer for every Pokémon… yes, that’s 151 Master Trainers in total!

It’s pretty easy to spot Master Trainers, because they have the icon of their favourite Pokémon above their head. Also, their look is slightly different than regular trainers, with a different colour for their clothes. Some of them have a simple request for you, but it turns out that most of them just want to battle.

There’s also another fun twist about those trainers: they will only battle against the species of Pokémon they love. In other words, in order to challenge all 151 Master Trainers, you will need to train every single Pokémon in the Pokédex. Needless to say, it’s definitely not something you will be done with in a matter of hours! What’s more, battles are said to be really tough, and you will not be able to use any items.

If you manage to defeat a Master Trainer, you will earn a title based on their favourite Pokémon (for example: Charizard Master). Those can be displayed in-game during Link Battles, so you can show off when playing online or via local wireless!

Finally, here’s a trailer and some screenshots for the Master Trainers in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee!:

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! (Switch) comes out on November 16th worldwide.
