Pokémon GO: more details about the Safari Zone events

Today, Niantic shared some more details about the Safari Zone events for Pokémon GO, that are taking place on September 16th at Unibail-Rodamco Shopping Centres in:

  • Oberhausen (Germany)
  • Les Quatre Temps in Paris (France)
  • La Maquinista in Barcelona (Spain)

At each event, players will receive the following from the various PokéStops found there:

  • an in-game medal
  • special 2km Eggs

What’s more, Lures will be activated all day at those PokéStops, allowing players to catch Pokémon such as Kangaskhan, Chansey, Larvitar, and others including Shiny Pikachu, Shiny Magikarp, and various forms of Unown. There’s a catch, though: Gym and Raid Battles will not be available at these shopping centers during the event, officially in order to “optimise the experience for all Trainers attending”.

There will also be team lounges, for players to meet up with each other, and Trainer kits will be distributed to attendees. And if you’re planning to do a little bout of shopping, you will also get special offers in select stores.

In order to attend those Safari Zone events, you will need a ticket, available for free (but nontransferable). For more details on how to get a ticket, Niantic redirect you to the Facebook page of each shopping center. If you cannot get a ticket, don’t worry too much about it: you will be able to find some of the Pokémon from the event throughout the cities where the shopping centers are located.

Finally, here’s the new dates for the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events in Denmark, Czech Republic, Sweden, and the Netherlands:

  • October 7, 2017
    • Fisketorvet—Copenhagen, Denmark
    • Centrum Černý Most—Prague, The Czech Republic
  • October 14, 2017
    • Mall of Scandinavia—Stockholm, Sweden
    • Stadshart Amstelveen—Amstelveen, The Netherlands
