Tokyo Game Shows 2018

For the first time in over a decade, Nintendo will be at the Tokyo Game Show this year. But don’t expect to see Mario among the many booths on the showfloor: Nintendo’s presence will be strictly limited to the Business Meeting Area. What’s more, you need an appointment to get into the area.

It’s not clear whether Nintendo will have some sort of conference, but if there is one, it will most likely be a Nintendo Direct. One thing’s for sure: Nintendo’s presence at the Tokyo Game Show 2018 is purely for business purposes: the company wants to meet developers / publishers interested in making games for the Nintendo Switch.

Of course, there will still be plenty of Nintendo Switch games playable at the show, but on third-party publishers’ booths instead of Nintendo’s.

Super Mario Odyssey

The latest piece of concept art for Super Mario Odyssey is for the underwater plants found in the Lake Kingdom. They used sequin as a motif, and made it so they would flicker underwater.
