Nintendo eShop: RecoChoku pre-paid card in Japan

Tired of always finding the same old Nintendo eShop pre-paid card at your local retailer? Then you shouldn’t look at the kind of cards Japan usually gets! Ever since Nintendo started selling those, there has been various special limited edition designs: New Super Mario Bros. 2, Wii Karaoke U, Dragon Quest X and more.

Usually, those special pre-paid cards are tied to a game / service where payments via the Nintendo eShop are offered / required (like the Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC, the Wii Karaoke U tickets or the Dragon Quest X monthly subscriptions). It’s the case with the new special pre-paid card available from today in Japan.

Its design is based on RecoChoku: an app only available on the Japanese eShop, which allows users to purchase and listen to some music on their Nintendo 3DS (already existing accounts can be used). Of course, the card itself can be used on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop, and to purchase pretty much anything available there.
