Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Debut trailer and jungle clip
During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, on June 18th, Nintendo finally gave us our first look at Metroid Prime 4 (which is now officially called Metroid Prime 4: Beyond), the long-awaited 4th main entry in the Metroid Prime series.
If you missed the presentation and/or simply want to rewatch the trailer, here’s the official upload:
At the very end of a trailer, we get a sneak peek at a jungle-like area. That same area is showcased in a short clip shown on the official website (teaser) in Japan:
(NB: the clip is significantly dimmer than the footage from the reveal trailer. That’s because the source video was particularly dim).
First announced back in 2017 at E3 2017, Metroid Prime 4 certainly has been a long time in the making. Its development has been rebooted at least once, and following the announcement in 2019 that Nintendo had entrusted development duties to Retro Studios (developers of the original trilogy), we didn’t see hair or hide of the game even once until the Nintendo Direct in June 2024.
Unfortunately, the wait is far from over seeing that the game will not come out before 2025. But at the very least, we finally have confirmation that the game does exist in some form!
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (Switch) does not have a release date yet, but is slated for a 2025 release worldwide.
