Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics (Wii U): video for Rubgy sevens

Mario Sonic OlympicsIt’s this week that the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics comes out in Japan (on Thursday) and in Europe and North America (on Friday). To prepare for this launch, Nintendo shared a brand new video for the game earlier today. It showcases one of the playable sports in the game: Rugby sevens.

To be more precise, the video showcases the two variants of Rugby sevens to be found in the game:

  • the regular version of the sport, with the same rules as those of the Olympics;
  • the Duel Event version of the sport. Not only items such as Bullet Bills and Chaos Emeralds are allowed, but rules are also radically different. In Duel Events, you get Duel Points by tackling opponents. Then, you have to score in order to add those Duel Points to your total score. If you don’t, then all those Duel Points will go to waste, plain and simple!

Here’s the latest video for Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics, showcasing Rugby seven:
