Here’s the latest sales report from Famitsu, with Hardware and Software sales for February 2025 in Japan (January 26th to February 23rd, so 4 weeks in total).

Top 5 Software

For the second month in a row, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD was the second best-selling game in Japan with over 63,000 units sold, which brings total sales to over 200.000 units at retail alone since launch.

Publishers

Nintendo was once again the most successful publisher in Japan with 322.000 units sold in February. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and the usual evergreen titles (like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) did somewhat compensate for the lack of new releases, though they weren’t enough to prevent a significant drop in sales.

Hardware

Hardware-wise, the Nintendo Switch saw a significant drop in sales in February with “only” 167.188 units sold. That drop is hardly surprising given the lack of major releases, and the console itself about to enter its 9th year on the market.
