Indivisible announced for the Nintendo Switch; trailer and details

Another day, another indie game announced for the Nintendo Switch! And the one announced today is among the most anticipates indie games: Indivisible, from Lab Zero. The best thing? It will be released simultaneously with the other platforms, thanks to extra funding from 505 Games (which allowed the team to hire an extra programmer).

For those who never heard of the game before, Indivisible is a RPG/platformer where you play as Ajna (read “AHZH-na”). She’s a young girl who sets out on journey across the world in order to discover the truth behind her mysterious powers. She won’t be alone, though: various heroes will join her along the way. The abilities she will gain during her journey will help her traverse the environements, but also defeat enemies.

Indivisible features a “deep storyline”, inspired by southeast Asian and other world mythologies, but also Lab Zero’s “trademark feature-quality 2D hand-drawn animation”, a soundtrack composed by the one and only Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana composer), and an opening animation by TRIGGER (Little Witch Academia, more).

Here’s the latest trailer:

The trailer above confirms that the Nintendo Switch is also getting the Limited Edition, which includes the following:

  • a physical copy of the game
  • a plastic slipcover
  • a custom tin
  • a full colour manual

Indivisible will be Lab Zero’s very first game on a Nintendo platform. As of writing, the game isn’t running on the Nintendo Switch yet, but the new programmer hired just for this version is already hard at work, laying the groundworkd for this version of the game. He’s also busy porting the game’s renderer to OpenGL, which will also be beneficial to the Mac and Linux versions of the game (that’s one stone, two three birds!).

If you backed the game on Kickstarter, you can ask to get the Nintendo Switch version instead of the one you initially chose. All you have to do is retake the Backerkit survey, and you’re all set! The best part? Yes, you can ask for the physical version of the game, too (provided you initially asked for one, obviously). For more details, make sure to check out the source link below!

Indivisible (Switch) will be released in 2018 in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
