Gal Guardians: Demon Purge – Demon hunting season to kick off this February

Gal Guardians: Demon Purge is the latest game from Inti Creates (a Metroidvania with characters from the Gal Gun series), and it was revealed back in August ahead of Bit Summit. And today, Inti Creates finally revealed the release dates for the game. The good news is: that date is probably closer than you expected!

Players looking to get the digital version of the game (on the Nintendo eShop) will be able to get it from February 23rd worldwide. It will cost $24.99 / 3 980 Yen.

Meanwhile, players interested in a physical copy will have to wait until March 23rd to get it: that’s when it will be released in Japan. Two versions will be available for purchase:

Regular: 5 280 Yen
Limited Edition: 9 980 Yen

The Limited Edition includes the following:

special box with illustration by Daisuke Ito
Artbook including illustrations by Daisuke Ito, and pixel art by the Pixel Art Team
Soundtrack CD (1 disc), containing all music tracks
Acrylic keyring

Pre-orders for both versions include a clear file (A4 size).

Gal Guardians is a 2D side-scrolling action game focused on two demon hunting sisters who challenge a demonic castle in order to save their school. Players take control of both characters with entirely different skillsets, proceeding through stages in order to confront the demonic bosses that await deep within. Each boss yields new weapons for them, allowing for more varied exploration in further stages and opening up new routes.

Gal Guardians features 2-player co-op with special actions, extensive difficulty options with the “Style System,” unique changes on repeat plays, and most importantly the quality and challenge players have come to expect from Inti Creates titles, this time with a new gothic horror aesthetic.

When a demon’s castle darkens the land, two sisters challenge its halls. Together, they can break the curse!

Gal Guardians: Demon Purge (Switch – eShop) comes out on February 23rd worldwide, with retail release following on March 23rd in Japan.
