Gameplay Rebalance
[Balancing Battles]
▼ Buster
- The power of machine gun weapons has been enhanced.
- The range of machine gun weapons has been increased.
- Machine gun bullets have been adjusted to hit less terrain.
- The direction of the punch and kick has been adjusted to be in the direction in which the character is facing.
▼ Monster
- The “Skill charge time” of “Oculus” has been reduced.
- The “Skill Activation Time” for “Death” has been reduced from 5 seconds to 4.5 seconds. (The countdown display will start from 5 seconds)
◆System
- Fixed a bug in the Nintendo Switch version so that users who played online matches together will be displayed in the list of people who played together.
◆ Bug Fixes
- Fixed a high processing load issue with smoke effects in “Earth Red Thrower”.
- Fixed a bug that caused unintended behavior of characters in certain environments.

Improving Matchmaking
- Busters can keep their teammates to the next match by selecting “”Continue”” together when a match is over.
- It is now possible to match without a Monster player, which makes it possible to find a game with Buster players only. (Previously, you needed at least 1 Buster and 1 Monster player to start a match.)
- Matchmaking scale adjustment
- Players in the low-rate tier will be matched with similarly skilled players more often, and players in the high-rate tier match more broadly.
Gameplay Rebalance
[Rewards]
- Rebalanced to reduce the gap in rewards between Busters and Monsters.
- Some of the requirements to earn exp and Soul coins have been changed.
- Monster’s requirement to earn Soul gems has been changed from “”quick annihilation of all Busters”” to “”annihilation of all Busters””.
[Balancing Battles]
- The amount of “”time it takes for souls to drop”” when you defeat Undead has been reduced.
- The number of button presses required to recover from a fall has been reduced.
- When Monsters cancel Predation, Busters will be shot upwards.
Buster
- They can now deal damage against Monster by ghost attack.
Monster
- The amount of damage by falling from the stage has been increased.
- Burn damage caused by Mythic Dragon’s skill has been reduced while guarding.
Undead
- The amount of damage by falling from the stage has been increased.
System
- Overall default sound volume has been rebalanced.
Bug Fixes
- The issue of the Crown level up reward containing items you can not receive has been fixed.
- You can acquire the items by going to the level window while the requirement is achieved.
- The issue where players could get stuck on the roof when returning from falling off the stage on the Nightmare Christmas stage has been fixed.
- The problem of the COM players often getting stuck on obstacles has been fixed.
- The problem of the COM players stopping near souls when the souls are on the water has been fixed.

Game Balance
[Rewards]
- When a player is eliminated from an Episode Match, they can earn some EXP as a reward.
[Balancing Battles]
- The “time until Souls appear” when an undead is defeated has been shortened.
- The “time of inactivity after falling” from the stage has been lengthened.
- When the Buster attacks a Monster, the Monster’s HP bar and mini-map will be visible to all Busters for a certain period of time.
- The “movement speed” on uphill slopes is slower.
- The mini-map has been updated to show terrain and undead spawning locations.
Buster
- The invincibility time after reviving from a ghost is longer.
- When a “ghost” player falls off the map, they will drop their Souls and return to the map in a tripped state.
- The “knockback” of the「shotgun」and「pistol」has been adjusted.
- The “minimum damage” of the「shotgun」has been increased.
- 「Shotgun」at close range have been made easier to hit.
- The bullets of the “Pistol” have been adjusted to hit easier.
- Healer’s healing amount has been reduced.
- Healer damage has been increased.
- The “fire rate” of the “Healer” has decreased.
Monster
- “Faster skill cooldown” near the end of battle is now weaker.
- Increased the size of the “Predation range”.
- Predation is now quicker after the button is pressed.
- The “time to complete Predation” for “Kigurumee” skill has been lengthened.
- The behavior of the skills for “Oculus” and “Sakanamon” has been changed.
- The duration of burn caused by the Mythical Dragon skill has been lengthened.
- Reduced the amount of burn damage caused by the Dragon Head skill.
Undead
- The “shield defense range” for “Cuttle” has been reduced.
[Stage/Map]
- The “Soul Pot” has been adjusted for less collision with the player.
- The number of “trippable objects” in the “Deep Forest” has been reduced.
- When colliding with trippable objects in succession, the player will not trip over until the player is away from the trippable objects for a certain range.
- Fixed the “fence collision” to be only during jumping.
Other Adjustments
- Improved the matchmaking for Episode Matches.
- In Episode Matches, the winning player can no longer punch, kick, or activate shots/skills during the results.
- In Episode Matches, when a player enters the match as a buster, matchmaking will be stopped when the player is close to winning.
- The volume of “ZITABATA” of SAKANAMON collaboration music has been lowered.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a problem in which the game did respond properly after key configuration.
- Fixed an issue that caused an error when matchmaking in Episode Matches on the PS5 version.
- Fixed an issue that caused some Monsters’ rapid ranged skills to become more powerful with button mashing.
- Fixed an issue that caused Monsters to continue Predation on busters when they were in a ghost state.
- Fixed an issue that caused Souls to drop on blocks with trippable objects such as fences, stones, and tree roots.
- Fixed an issue that prevented players from acquiring Souls, even if they did not have any Souls, when multiple Souls were present.
- Fixed an issue that caused the camera to be inverted.
- Fixed other minor bugs.

How to download updates for Goonya Monster for the Nintendo Switch?
To download the updates for Goonya Monster, you have three options:
- let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off
If not…
- try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
OR
- select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.
To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
