Famitsu: Downtown Nekketsu Jidaigeki announced for the Nintendo 3DS

Some info from Famitsu have started to leak, allowing us to learn that the Nintendo 3DS is about to get a new Kunio-kun game in Japan. The game is called Downton Nekketsu Jidaigeki, and takes places several years after the event of Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki da yo Zenin Shugo (on the NES).  It will include a Story Mode, as well as a Battle Royale Mode (which can be played with up to 4 players).

In Story Mode, you can have a party of 4 people, including:

– Kunio
– Tsurumatsu
– 2 gang members

As far as gameplay is concerned, this game will introduce an element called “Katana Action”, which allows you to mow down your enemies with swords. Of course, there’s a catch: each swing uses up some energy, and once it’s completely depleted, you won’t be able to use your weapon anymore.

Scans, more details and some pictures should come later this week, once Famitsu is out in Japan.

Downtown Nekketsu Jidaigeki (3DS) comes out on May 28 in Japan.
