Empire of Sin: Make It Count expansion and Precinct Update announced for later this year
Last week, during the PDXCON showcase, Paradox Interactive and Romero Games made a couple of announcements for Empire of Sin.
First, there’s the Make It Count expansion, releasing later this year. It will add a new boss, new gangster, and more. It’s described as the first major content expansion for the game, which implies there will be others later down the road.
Here’s a trailer and the list of key features for the expansion:
- Meyer Lansky – Play as the “Mob’s Accountant,” a boss that excels at economics and creates synergy in combat. He uses his smooth talking to “make peace” with money and connections.
- “The Fixers” – Five gangsters are up for hire, bringing their loan sharking Racket and combat abilities. This Racket unlocks Blackmail over other characters and factions.
- A string of missions that tell the story of Lansky and the Fixers, unlocking game features like Loan Sharking, and introduce Lansky’s mentor, Arnold Rothstein.
- New rackets, new abilities, new gangsters and new missions – more details to come!
At the same time, a new Software update will be released: the Precinct Update. It will add new features, a new win condition, and more.
Here’s the list of key features for that update:
- Precincts: Precincts create a new management layer across neighborhoods, allowing for better synergy and control of numerous ways to streamline your criminal empire. However, turning your neighborhood into a massively integrated monopoly on illegal booze can have consequences – top precincts will garner more attention from the police. New empire management screens have been unified under a precinct screen as a means of streamlining gameplay mechanics and making it easier for the common criminal to break bad, at scale. Precincts and their rackets are controlled via a central building known as The Depot. Take the depot to win the precinct.
- Moguls & Win Conditions: There’s more than one way to the top of the Chicago mob scene. Players focused on building their empire can reach for the Chi-Town Mogul win condition. Alternatively, those focused on diplomacy can find a new path to victory with The Buyout. The more enterprising boss can now put down their guns and tell the competition to sleep with the fishes with business prowess – that’s the way to run an empire!
- Variety – The Spice of Life: Players can now sling their guns or their business savvy with rival gangs in additional racket interiors.
- Balancing changes and additional fixes
