[E3 2016] The Legend of Zelda (Wii U / NX): new artwork, E3 lanyard

The Legend of Zelda (Wii U / NX) artwork

It’s tomorrow that we will finally get our very first good look at the next The Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U and the NX platform. Before that, all we had was a teaser trailer from E3 2014, some off-screen footage from The Game Awards, and another teaser from the November 2015 Nintendo Direct.

But yesterday, Amazon accidently posted a brand new artwork on the game’s product page. It’s since been removed, but Nintendo thought that the cat was now out of the bag, and posted the full artwork in HQ on the Legend of Zelda official Facebook page.

The artwork is pretty interesting, for several reasons:

  • we can see Link climbing a mountain, which implies the game will feature actual climbing (it would be weird for Nintendo to put the focus on that in an artwork, otherwise);
  • we can see some mysterious towers in the overworld;
  • we can also see various elements, such as a castle in the distance, a lake, and more.

Here’s the latest artwork for the new The Legend of Zelda game on Wii U andthe NX platform:

But don’t leave just yet, there’s more! We now have pics of the lanyard for the E3 badges, and as usual, it’s a Nintendo game that’s featured on it (it’s been a “tradition” for the past few years). Unsurprisingly, this year, it’s the latest The Legend of Zelda game that’s showcased on it, but also the Zelda series as a whole.

Here’s some pictures from Johnn Ricciardi and Famitsu:
