Train

- Franklyn will offer the crafting recipe for the Train once you’ve donated a certain number of Shiny Discs.
- When the conditions are met, Franklyn will complete the craft and give you the Train. If you already meet the conditions, you must still donate at least one Shiny Disc in order to receive it.
- The Train can only run on tracks and cannot be operated outside of them.
- Franklyn will offer the crafting recipe for the Train once you’ve donated a certain number of Shiny Discs.

Railway Tracks and Railway Bridge

- If you hold Vehicle Licence Level 2 or higher, you can obtain the Locomotive Licence. After obtaining it, you can craft railway tracks and railway bridges.
- You can craft both straight tracks and curved tracks.
- Railway Bridges are special bridges designed for trains to cross.

Conductor Set

- To match the arrival of the Train, a new Conductor outfit set has been added. The set includes the Conductor Cap, Conductor Shirt, and Conductor Pants.
- You can purchase these items from the Clothing Shop, receive them as gifts from villagers, or even find them at the Recycling Bin.

Animal Breeding Licence

If you hold Animal Handling Licence Level 3 or higher, you can obtain the Animal Breeding Licence from Fletch. This licence allows you to begin breeding animals on your farm.

Breeding

- Once two animals are bred, there is up to a ten-day pregnancy period before the birth.
- Birth takes place between 8:00 and 12:00 in the morning, and the newborn will appear in the same pen with the mother.
- Pregnant animals are displayed with a special state while in the pen.
- After giving birth, animals cannot breed again for a certain period of time.
- Once two animals are bred, there is up to a ten-day pregnancy period before the birth.

Egg Incubation

- When a rooster shares a pen with up to three hens, Fertilised Chicken Eggs can be produced.
- These eggs cannot be used for cooking, but they can be placed in an Egg Incubator to hatch Baby Chook.
- When the egg hatches, a Baby Chook is born and can be placed into an Animal Box to bring it to your farm.

- Duff Dust can be purchased at Irwin’s once you hold Animal Breeding Licence Level 2 or higher.
- When used on a male animal, it will search for a female and attempt to breed.

Domesti-Crate

- The Domesti-Crate is an item that lets you capture and tame animals such as roosters, Vombull, Plunk, Boaricoots, and Penguins.
- You can purchase it at Irwin’s once you hold Trapping Licence Level 2 or higher.

Farm Animals

- Rooster: Rarely found in tropical regions and can be caught with a Domesti-Crate. Has the trait of running away from players.
- Penguin: Can be caught with a Domesti-Crate, but breeding is not possible. Feeding cooked fish will give you a Pretty Pebble the next day.

- Boaricoot: Rarely found near deserts and can be caught with a Domesti-Crate.
- Vombull: Rarely found in plains and can be caught with a Domesti-Crate. Drops a large amount of Meat and has a chance to drop Prime Meat.

- Native Bread: Obtained when a fully grown, well cared for Burrowcoot digs up a grassy tile each day.
- Earth Worms: Obtained when a fully grown, well cared for Burrowcoot digs up a bare tile each day. Can be used as bait for the Crab Pot.
- Pretty Pebble: Produced when a Penguin is fed cooked fish, and the item appears the following day. Can be placed in the Stone Grinder to obtain random ores.
- Fertilised Chicken Egg: Laid when a rooster and hens are kept together. Can be sold or placed in the Egg Incubator to hatch into a Baby Chook.
- Native Bread: Obtained when a fully grown, well cared for Burrowcoot digs up a grassy tile each day.

Auto Placer

- The Auto Placer is discovered by Franklyn after you donate a certain number of Shiny Discs and complete the Berkonium quest.
- If the conditions are already met, you must still donate at least one more Shiny Disc to receive it.
- When placed next to processing devices such as BBQ or Furnace, items that can be processed (for example meat and ores) will be automatically handled when put in the rear storage slot.
- The Auto Placer works with all processing machines in the game, such as the Billy Can Kit, Keg, Camp Fire, Furnace, Spinning Wheel, and Cheese Maker.
- The Auto Placer is discovered by Franklyn after you donate a certain number of Shiny Discs and complete the Berkonium quest.
Improvements
Multiplayer and Stability
- Improved the multiplayer environment that was affected by issues with an older version of the game engine, allowing play in a stable network environment.
- Fixed performance degradation and forced closures during long play sessions for a more comfortable gameplay experience.
- Fixed slowdown that occurred when many bombs went off or when sudden heavy load was applied.
- Fixed errors that occurred during saving and loading.
Graphics and Performance
- Upgraded the graphics engine to improve performance and stability, which also changed some visual details.
- Fixed issues where character animations were choppy or not smooth.
UI and UX
It is difficult to describe every UI and UX change in detail, but many improvements have been made across the board.
- Fixed small inconveniences such as display delays, flickering, and aliasing issues.
- Improved readability in places like overlapping villager dialogue windows and quest windows.
- Fixed situations where certain actions were possible during loading screens or while paused.

- Adjusted conditions for certain quests to allow smoother progression.

Gamepad Controls
- Improved menus so that they can now be selected with a gamepad.
- Fixed an issue where input occasionally did not respond when switching tabs with a gamepad.

How to download updates for Dinkum on Nintendo Switch?
To download the updates for Dinkum, you have three options:
- let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off
If not…
- try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
OR
- select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.
To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
