Boomerang Fu – Ver. ??? (Hide & Seek Update)

  • Release date: ???
  • Patch notes:
HIDE & SEEK MODE

Scramble to find the perfect hiding spot or hunt down your friends in this tense new game mode.

Each player gets a turn as the seeker and closes their eyes while everyone else hides. After 10 seconds, the hiders transform into nearby props and the seeker has to figure out which bamboo is real and which is a donut in disguise.

The time limit and number of seek attempts can be changed in the Modifiers menu for people who want an easier or harder hide and seek experience.

FALL PROTECTION

Are you tired of stumbling into the water by accident? Fall Protection is our brand new accessibility setting aimed at younger players and people who just want to throw boomerangs without worrying about walking off cliffs.

You can now find Fall Protection in the Modifiers menu. It has 3 settings:

  • Off: the classic Boomerang Fu experience
  • Gentle: subtly nudge players away from edges (default)
  • Extreme: completely stop players walking off edges
NEW MUSIC

Two new tracks have been added to the match playlist: “Just Desserts” by Paul Kopetko and “Hide and Seek” by Zorsy.

IMPROVEMENTS
  • When new characters are unlocked, they are highlighted in the Choose Characters screen
  • Bamboozled is never the first powerup collected in a match, so new players don’t get confused by what the books do
  • Died out of bounds with your hat on? Now your hat stays behind so you can see what happened more easily.
BUG FIXES
  • FIXED: bots had trouble navigating on and off floating platforms
  • FIXED: frozen decoys sometimes left hats behind on the playfield
  • FIXED: jittery collision with moving obstacles
  • FIXED: occasional wonky controller assignment in the Pause menu
  • FIXED: invisible colliders in two levels

Boomerang Fu – Ver. ???

  • Release date: ???
  • Patch notes:
NEW OPTIONS:
  • Added Key Bindings menu to Options to let you configure custom keys. If you hate WASD + JKL, you’ll LOVE this!
  • Added an option to the Team Up menu to make all bots join Team Chill. Recreate your favourite Terminator movies by fighting a team of 5 hard mode bots all by yourself!
  • Added “disable slow mo” to Options menu. A lot of people requested this and I can only assume they thought Boomerang Fu wasn’t fast-paced enough.
  • Moved “save replay” folder from Desktop to My Documents due to popular demand. Apparently I’m the only one who mainly uses their Desktop as a gif storage facility. Who knew!

BALANCE TWEAKS:
  • Power-ups spawn 20% less often per power-up already collected. This is to avoid big power-up stacks in the early game.
  • Power-ups spawn less often if fewer power-ups are enabled in Custom power-ups. This is to avoid everyone having the exact same stack early in the game.
  • Reduced the revive time in Team Up mode so it’s a little easier to resurrect your fallen comrades
  • Players can now only steal a boomerang off a dead teammate’s body if the dead body is holding two boomerangs. This is to prevent you accidentally disarming your teammate while you’re reviving them.
  • Rotated Big Island level a little to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
BUG FIXES:

  • Disabling Bamboozled power-up in custom power-ups menu actually disables it now

  • Fixed players with Dash Through Walls be able to hide in garden beds in Pier and Temple levels
  • Fixed rare cases where one power-up could be collected by two people at once
  • Fixed z-fighting when milk and coffee get spilled in the same place. We fight with Boomerangs, not Zs.
