Animal Crossing bundle (New 3DS), Hyrule New 3DS XL and new Wii Mote Plus announced for NA

When the New Nintendo 3DS launched in North America, only the XL model was available, much to the dismay of players who prefer smaller handhelds. But at E3, Reggie Fils-Aimé told Kotaku that fans should “stay tuned and maybe some special SKUs might show up”.

And yesterday, during the GameStop Managers Conference in Las Vegas, Nintendo announced that the New Nintendo 3DS would eventually come out in North America on September 25th. It will only be available as part of the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundle. Sold $219.99, it will include:

  • New Nintendo 3DS (White)
  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (download code)
  • two sets of Cover Plates
  • one amiibo card

And on October 30th, Nintendo will launch a new model for the New Nintendo 3DS XL, called “Hyrule Edition”. Unsurprisingly, it features the Hylian crest on gold paint, but it will not include any game. It will cost $199.99, as a GameStop exclusive.

Nintendo also announced that the Bowser, Yoshi and Toad Wii Remote Plus would launch on October 16th (Yoshi) and September 11th (Bowser and Toad) in North America. They will also be GameStop exclusives.

Finally, Bowser will soon get its own $10 Nintendo eShop card (from the Photos with Mario series), which will come with a AR card (just like the others).
