Kusan: City of Wolves – Ver. ??? (Patch 2)
- Release date: TBA
- Patch notes:
Choose Your Challenge: Standard or Hard
Kusan is a dangerous city, but now you can choose how you want to face it!
Standard Mode
A more approachable way to experience Kusan’s intense, fast-paced action.
-
More time to react: Enemies attack more slowly, giving you extra opportunities to dodge, counter and survive.
-
More ammunition: Improved ammo drops from several enemies and destructible objects help keep you in the fight.
-
Rebalanced encounters: Adjusted enemy placements and attack patterns across the campaign.
-
Hoban Convoy adjustments: Your attacks now deal increased damage to the convoy.
Hard Mode
For Fixers looking for a tougher challenge!
Hard Mode retains the more demanding combat experience, with faster enemy attacks, tougher encounter layouts and more limited ammunition opportunities.
We’ve also made balancing adjustments to selected enemies and encounters to refine the challenge.
Want to change things up?
You can now switch difficulty directly from the Pause Menu. Changing modes will restart your current floor.
If you’re struggling in Hard Mode, you’ll also be offered the option to switch to Standard after repeated Game Overs.
Please note: Existing saves created before difficulty modes were introduced will initially use Hard Mode.
Floor Select: Your Fight, Your Way!
Want another shot at a particular encounter?
Chasing a better grade?
Or just fancy replaying your favourite section?
Floor Select is here!
You can now select previously unlocked starting points within stages, giving you greater freedom over how you tackle Kusan.
-
Replay unlocked floors without starting the entire stage again.
-
Unlock new starting points as you progress.
-
Switch between Standard and Hard from the Stage Select screen.
-
Earn grades and rewards based on the floors you complete.
We’ve also refined the way stage grades are displayed, making it easier to track your best performances.
That SS rank isn’t going to earn itself!
Continue Where You Left Off
Getting back into the action just got easier!
Previously, selecting Continue would start you at the beginning of the stage following your last completed stage.
Now, Continue takes you back to the last floor you entered, using the difficulty mode you were playing at the time.
That means less time retracing your steps and more time getting straight back into the action.
Older saves without a recorded floor entry will initially use the previous Continue behaviour.
Combat Just Got Better!
We’ve made several adjustments to improve the feel, responsiveness and clarity of combat.
Smarter Punch Targeting
Jin now prioritises enemies directly in front of his aiming direction when punching, helping you connect with your intended target more consistently.
Motorcycle Mayhem
The motorcycle sequences in Chapter 2-7 have received some extra attention.
-
Improved dash targeting when using keyboard controls.
-
Added crash effects and sounds when colliding with vehicles.
-
Side collisions with certain vehicles and trailers now block your movement instead of instantly defeating you.
Destruction With More Impact
-
Improved door physics and interactions.
-
Launched doors now break when hitting vehicles.
-
New visual trails make launching doors and walls more satisfying.
-
Certain event walls can no longer be destroyed before their encounters are complete.
Limbus Improvements
We’ve made a few changes to improve the flow of Limbus challenges.
More Time to React
Most timed button-pattern challenges now give you eight seconds to complete their inputs.
Faster Core Collection
Limbus Cores now begin moving towards Jin sooner and travel faster, making collection more convenient.
Both improvements apply across Standard and Hard modes.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
It’s not just the big features getting attention. We’ve also introduced several smaller improvements to make your time in Kusan smoother.
Faster Results Screens
More controller inputs can now skip the score animation after clearing a floor.
Improved Pause Menu
Selecting Main Menu or Quit now displays a confirmation prompt to help prevent accidental exits.
Look Around Tutorial
We’ve improved the tutorial’s visual guidance and wording.
Selecting Don’t Show Again will now correctly prevent the tutorial from appearing again.
Visual & Interface Updates
-
Restored the original colours of several environmental objects.
-
Added new interface text for the difficulty modes.
-
Updated localisation and tutorial wording.
-
Improved how stage grades and progression are displayed.
