Discounty – Ver. 1.1.0 (Deep Pocket$)

  • Release date: October 20th/21st 2025

Quests

  • Discounty Basement: Adds a multi-part questline, starting in Chapter 2 and continuing into the endgame, in which the player can add a basement to their store.

  • The Boiling Brew: Adds a quest that introduces you Solruna’s new experiments with paint. Can be started after seeing Solruna’s final friendship event.

  • Corporate Espionage: the stealth route is shorter, and now spawns automatically when player is in the forest between 19:00 and 20:00.

  • Beyond the Fog: reduced the firewood Elmer requires to 1 piece, and clarified quest text.

  • An Apple of the Occult: changed wording of objective to reduce player confusion.

  • The Fishy Fisherman: players can now speak with Barbara to get more Fishmas Sticks if needed.

Shop:

  • Basement: players can unlock a basement, giving extra storage space for item boxes, shelves, and decorations.

  • Scanner can now be toggled back to cash register using the PC.

  • Chester won’t steal: fixed bug that could cause items Chester holds to be lost when the player leaves the store.

  • Chester can now place items back in boxes if all shelves are full and he’s got nothing better to do.

  • Improved scanner tutorial to clarify the controls.

  • Customers now queue based on proximity to the cash register, rather than the order in which they finish their shopping lists. No more cutting in line!

  • Trash compactor lights now indicate what type of waste they contain.

  • Added a red-tinted “0” to empty shelves.

  • Players can no longer place items behind fridges. Already-placed items can be picked up.

New Rewards Shop Items:

  • Improved Sponge: can be used 3 times before wetting again.

  • Ultimate Sponge: can be used 4 times before wetting again.

  • Discounty Bucket: bucket no longer has an appeal penalty

  • Advanced Employee Shoes: Chester moves faster.

  • Premium Employee Shoes: Chester moves even faster

  • Employee Gloves: Chester restocks faster.

  • Premium Employee Gloves: Chester restocks even faster.

  • Category Discounts: get a discount when purchasing items in a particular category. Each category discount has 4 tiers.

Dialogues:

  • Guy will no longer introduce himself in Chapter 2 and beyond.

  • Derek can no longer talk about his workday before getting to work.

  • Karl no longer mentions the tea shop destruction early.

  • Ted and Solruna will now kick you out of their shops if you stay too late.

Visuals:

  • Added opening hours signs to all shops and trade deal vendors.

  • Improved look of the green sea.

  • Multiple aquariums no longer have synchronized movement.

  • Added particle effect when the PC is unpacked.

User Interface:

  • Character customization options are now numbered.

  • Added “Scan” command & button when using the scanner

  • Added progress bar to the Rewards Shop showing how many new items have been unlocked.

  • Tooltip for the standing fridges now way “Fridge” instead of “Cooler.”

  • Rewards Shop subheaders now properly scale to the text.

Other:

  • Performance: Fixed issue causing significant performance drops when entering the town.

  • Performance: Reduced the number of colliders and volumetric lighting sources in town to increase performance.

  • Players can no longer immediately go to bed; can only sleep at 9:30 or later on all days.

  • Ted’s opening hours are now properly set to the times listed.

  • Solruna now closes her shop at 20:00, to leave to parts unknown…

  • Post-credits popup has now been changed to Player dialogue.

  • Removed deteriorated posters in the parking lot next to town hall to make it clearer posters cannot be hung there.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed customers getting stuck when doors to the warehouse are blocked.

  • Fixed issue that could cause incorrect tooltips to show on shelves & coolers

  • Fixed players getting stuck in hay bales near farm.

  • Fixed players getting stuck next to Fisher’s mailbox.

  • Fixed Ms. Andersen looking out her window when she’s outside in some instances.

  • Fixed Elmer’s fireplace not being lit when it should be.

  • Fixed unaligned walls in shop.

  • Removed extra pixels in James’ sprite.

  • Fixed game pausing time after opening & closing sewer menus.

  • Fixed gap in visual boundary around shop.

  • Chester’s third friendship event is no longer available during Blomkest Fair, which could cause a soft lock.

  • Small potted tree now only spawns in the back slot at Solruna’s store.

  • Fixed bird bath not returning to normal after finishing the related quest.

  • Advanced trade deal items can no longer be selected before they’re unlocked.

  • Fixed bucket spawning too early.

  • Expand and Conquer quest: Elmer’s documents can no longer spawn in a way that can trap players.

  • Fixed rat bowl spawning too soon.

  • Shopping list text will no longer sometimes turn black.

  • Hilda’s third friendship event object (pot outside of Karl’s farm) will no longer be mistakenly highlighted.

  • The player can no longer “outrun” the rain effect by running downward.

  • Fixed issue with Tellar’s third friendship event triggering multiple times.

  • Fixed “New!” tag sometimes not disappearing on items from Delivery Guy.

  • Recycled individual boxes now return significantly less money than stacks.

  • Fixed issue causing the “It’s a Deal!” achievement to not trigger.

  • Fixed “Scrub Amok” achievement to only require cleaning 10 messes as described.

Shop:
  • End of day report runs faster the more items it displays.
  • End of day report can now be skipped section by section.
  • Fixed players getting not being able to order more items when they’ve ordered a full truck of items but allow Guy to leave, potentially hard-locking the game.
  • Fixed confused customers getting frozen or stuck.
  • Fixed scanner not registering pressing “up” if the first item has an up-facing barcode.
  • Fixed the scanner not responding to D-pad down buttons on controllers.
  • Bottomless coolers now properly appear in Ted’s shop.
  • Fixed customers sometimes entering the shop right before closing time, making them leave an unhappy reaction unfairly.
  • Fixed issue with scanner mini-game sometimes not correctly registering the direction pressed.
  • Fixed an issue with customers getting stuck in the bucket when placed in the shop area.
  • Fixed visual issue in scanner mini-game causing pad item to not rotate around the middle.
  • Fixed Chester sometimes spawning at an incorrect location in the shop.
  • Fixed issue with Chester picking up items triggering vibration.
  • Vendor poster boosts: Fixed shopping lists to add vendor poster items on top of what has already been generated instead of replacing non-vendor wares.
  • Fixed Pickles not being boosted by Barbara’s booster.
Interactions:
  • Fixed Trade Deal crate perks not properly increasing the number of crates available.
  • Players can now properly select vendor posters in the printer using a controller.
  • Made it easier to interact with a friendship event item. (Ted’s drink at the bar.)
  • Fixed the clickable area not lining up with text when going to sleep.
  • Fixed karaoke dialogue sometimes crashing the game.
  • Fixed issue with playing being able to pick up both the bucket and the sponge at the same time leaving the player in a blocked state.
  • Chester’s lemonade stand is easier to interact with on controller from below.
  • Made it easier to pick up Barbara’s barrelson controller and mouse and keyboard and made sure they highlighted properly.
  • Made it easier to interact with quest buckets (Ms. Andersen’s quest and Fisher’s boat).
  • Made it easier to interact with trash bottles found around the world.
  • Added sounds to gate to the sheep pasture in the farm.
  • Adjusted vibrations and added more instances of vibration (picking up bottles, cash register.
Cutscenes:
  • Increased the time window in which it’s possible to start the pipe cutscene.
  • Added fog to all cutscenes featuring the shadow character.
  • Added sound effect to pipe cutscene.
  • Fixed Solruna’s friendship event 3 spawning too early
  • Fixed multiple issues with Karl’s trade deal 3 cutscene (changed trigger size and gave Karl a special path to make sure you don’t encounter him while heading to the farm).
  • Fixed issues with Derek friendship event 2 spawning too early.
  • Fixed issue with first Sunday cutscene being missable under certain conditions.
  • Fixed issue with cutscene trigger not covering the entire park.
  • Fixed visual issue in protest cutscene.
  • Fixed issue with screenshake in statue cutscene
  • Increase character movement speeds, emoting, and odd camera panning in multiple cutscenes.

  • Fixed players getting stuck in the hedges next to the Lapleys’ home.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in crab pots at the harbor.

  • Fixed players getting stuck in the lamp post at the top of the harbor stairs.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in the flock of sheep at the Blomkest Fair.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in mailboxes.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in Elmer’s hedge.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in the rocks outside the mine.
  • Fixed players getting stuck in trees in multiple locations in the forest.

Dialogues, schedules & quests:
  • Fixed Elmer relentlessly hitting on the player. (This dialogue now only plays once as intended.)
  • Fixed two friendship events spawning at the same time leading to a soft lock.
  • Fixed various issues with the Corporate Espionage quest that could soft lock players who started the quest on a Sunday.
  • Fixed soft-locking the game if you clicked on Flufflesfirst when painting sheep in the Karl’s second trade deal quest.
  • Fixed issue with players needing to start “Operating as a Real Supermarket” by going to the farm, rather than being able to start any of the trade deal vendor quests.
  • Fixed issue with players being soft-locked during Tammy’s third trade deal quest.
  • Fixed players being soft-locked due to the clock reaching midnight during a scene transition in Tammy’s first trade deal quest.
  • Fixed issue with Ms. Andersen being able to speak about early.
  • Fixed issue with Ted’s third friendship event object not being clickable.
  • Solruna’s third friendship event is now correctly displayed as taking place in the forest int he Customer tab.
  • Adjusted dialogue during Tammy’s third trade deal quest to clarify that Elmer needs three pieces of wood instead of one.
  • Fixed Hilda’s third friendship event item being highlighted before the player has seen the first two events.
  • Fixed HIlda’s second friendship event crashing in Spanish.
  • Fixed issue with dialogue option not disappearing in Tellar’s third friendship event.

  • Fixed issues with visual alignment of the item description, and sleep interaction text in simplified Chinese.
  • Made sure the exit button in the point shop is highlighted correctly.
  • Fixed issues with localized text going out of bounds.
  • Fixed instances of incorrect storage capacity shown when hovering shelves in Isenkram’s shop.
  • Fixed character front size for Asian languages making certain text boxes appear out of screen.
  • Made sure the day of the week text box fit all asian languages.
Visuals
  • Changed delivery clock sign to display only seconds instead of minutes + seconds.
  • Fixed a visual issue with the rat house spawning too low on the display in Solruna’s shop.
  • Fixed a visual issue with the outline of the rathouse not being complete.
  • Fixed visual issue with the town hall stairs.
  • Fixed player sorting errors making the player appear below the bowl by the rats by the hardware store.
  • Fixed issue with missing colliders on some of the protest props, and made sure NPCs can pathfind around protest props.
  • Fixed sorting issues with the rats by the highway.
  • Fixed visual issues with shelves spawning too high up in Ted’s shop in chapter 2 and 3.
  • Fixed visual issue causing Ted to sometimes appear above shelves when walking past them in his shop.

  • Fixed players getting stuck on day 2 after exiting the trailer after reading the newspaper
  • Fixed players getting stuck between the barricades on the staircase
  • Fixed Erik & Julie entering the shop just before closing time, leading to an unavoidable negative reaction
  • Fixed localization issue for the quest “Profitable as a Real Supermarket” that caused the goal to be displayed as 25,000 shills, instead of 8,000.

How to download updates for Discounty on Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Discounty, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
