BitSummit the 13th Summer of Yokai: Nintendo to have a booth with playable Switch 2 indie games
For a few years now, Nintendo has been a major sponsor of BitSummit (Japan’s premiere indie game event). The company usually has a booth where a selection of indie games are playable; the line-up pretty much always consists of both upcoming releases and games that already available, but that the company still wants to showcase anyway. And today, Nintendo has announced that this year will be no exception: it will have a booth at BitSummit the 13th Summer of Yokai!
This year is going to be a pretty notable one, because some of the very first indie games on Nintendo Switch 2 will be playable on Nintendo’s booth at BitSummit. The exact line-up will be revealed at a later date — mostly likely during an upcoming Indie World presentation. Needless to say, there won’t be any game published by Nintendo at the event (this is an indie event, after all), so don’t go there expecting to play Metroid Prime 4: Beyond or Donkey Kong Bananza!
Perhaps because of those Nintendo Switch 2 games, Nintendo has announced that this year, fans who want to try out games on its booth during the General Admission Days will need to enter a lottery (on top of the ticket that needs to be purchased to attend BitSummit). The page for said lottery will go live at a later date.
BitSummit the 13th Summer of Yokai will take place from July 18th to July 20th at the Miyako Messe (Kyoto Industrial Promotion Center Co), in Kyoto, Japan. Business Day (industry people and journalists) is on July 18th, and the General Admission Days are on July 19th and July 20th.
