Hogwarts Legacy: details on Switch 2 version (resolution, DLSS, mouse controls, more)

Hogwarts Legacy is among the Nintendo Switch 2 games that will be available on launch day worldwide. In Japan specifically, pre-orders for the physical edition (Game Key Card) are now live, and Warner Bros. used that opportunity to share some further details about this Nintendo Switch 2 version.

First of all, Warner Bros. explains that, compared to the Nintendo Switch version, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy offers a more immersive experience with significantly upgraded graphics. The game supports DLSS, and features improved lighting and shadows, anti-aliasing, and more. The resolution goes up to 1440p in TV Mode, and in 1080p (with HDR) in Handheld Mode.

Unlike on Nintendo Switch, Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch 2 features a fully open world, with seamless transitions between areas (bye bye, loading screens!). The improved specs of the console also allow for improved frame rate, as well as reduced loading times. Finally, Warner Bros. confirms that mouse controls are indeed supported.

As mentioned above, the retail version is actually a game key card, with the full game requiring 24GB of free space to be downloaded. Here’s the Japanese prices for both editions:

  • Standard (retail, digital): 8,778 Yen
  • Digital Deluxe (digital): 9,878 Yen

The Digital Deluxe is the same as on Nintendo Switch:

  • Thestral Mount
  • Dark Arts Pack
    • Dark Arts Battle Arena
    • Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
    • Dark Arts Garrison Hat

Finally, here’s some screenshots:
