Super Mario Run: first update available (Ver. 1.0.1.1099), fixes Facebook linking

Super Mario Run was released last week on iOS, in over 150 countries. For such an ambitious launch, things went rather smoothly. That being said, if you’ve already checked our Comprenhensive list of issue (and possible fixes) article, you know there are quite a few issues ruining the fun for quite a few players. Fortunately for them, the first update for the game is finally available.

This update brings Super Mario Run to Ver. 1.0.1.1099, and does fix the biggest issue found in the game: linking your Facebook account quite simply makes the game crash (though some people did manage to link their account anyway).

Nintendo explains that this glitch happens when users try to find friends by linking their Facebook account, but none of their Facebook friends are linked to the app. After downloading and installing this update, you should be able to link your Facebook account safely, even if nobody in your Facebook friend list have their account linked to Super Mario Run.

Nintendo also mentions other bug fixes, but doesn’t specify which ones… Make sure to let us know in the comments of this post if one (or more) of the issues you encountered was fixed by today’s update.

To download this first update for Super Mario Run, you will need 164MB of free space on your device. Simply tap the notification that should appear on your device to start the download.

Thanks Joe Merrick for the heads up and the screencaps!
