Zelda: Breath of the Wild – JP website update, character art + details
Today, Nintendo updated the official website for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and opened a new section: Background. As the name implies, it provides some background information about the game, and more precisely the world it takes place in.
First, we have a small blurb about the story, that doesn’t reveal anything new. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes place in Hyrule, which is left in ruin after a disaster. 100 years later, Link wakes up, guided by a mysterious voice.
The main characters are:
- Link: when he wakes up, he has absolutely no recollection of the past. Guided by a mysterious voice, he goes on a grand journey across Hyrule;
- Zelda: the princess of the Hyrule Kingdom. An intelligent young woman filled with curiosity, but with a deep complex. She’s researching ancient ruins scattered throughout Hyrule on her own;
- Daruk (Goron): one of the fiercest warriors from the Goron tribe. He’s usually pretty calm, but in battle, you can witness his bravery as he knock down enemies with his weapon;
- Revali (Rito): he wears the same blue scarf as Daruk and Mipha;
- Mipha (Zora): a rather subdued young Zora, who doesn’t speak much. She seems to possess mysterious powers than other Zoras do not have;
- Guardian: relics from the past, that were created more than 100 years ago. One day, they suddenly started attacking people, and they are still wreaking havoc to this very day;
- Bokoblin: goblins that live in Hyrule. They make a living by making fur from various animals. It is said they really dislike bees. They will attack you as soon as they spot you.
