The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – More footage and character introductions
Back in June, Nintendo revealed The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom during the latest Nintendo Direct. Following that presentation, we didn’t get anything until earlier this week, when a brand new trailer and some footage were shared, with some fresh details following the next few days (check out this post or this one if you haven’t already!).
And today, there’s another video with over 7 minutes of footage for you to check out. It includes a story cutscene from the beginning of the game (also featured in the reveal trailer), and a better look at some of the gameplay mechanics (Echoes, Bind, Reverse Bond, and more).
Here’s the video:
And that’s not all! Nintendo has started sharing some character profiles, introducing some of the key characters you will get to meet in the game.
- King of Hyrule: the monarch of the Hyrule Kingdom, and Zelda’s father;
- General Ugi (official English name TBC): a general of the Hyrule Kingdom whose fiery sense of justice is without pair;
- Minister Sadari (official English name TBC): a serious and polite individual who serves as Minister;
- Ruberi (official English name TBC): Impa’s older brother, and a researcher studying the Rifts. He seems to know a lot about Link. (NB: the name of that character is quite close to the Japanese name of Robbie from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (ロベリー / Roberii). It’s unclear whether the two characters are related or not);
- Impa: Princess Zelda’s nursemaid. She’s always by her side.
- Link: a green-clad swordsman wielding a mysterious sword. After rescuing Princess Zelda from the clutches of Ganon, he’s swallowed up by a mysterious rift.
- Ganon: a powerful beast who held Princess Zelda captive. It looks like he’s got something to do with the mysterious rifts that suddenly started appearing all over Hyrule.
- Dampé: an engineer who crafts flashy works of art he calls “automatons”. Those have powerful effects that differ from Echoes’.
- Stamp Guy: a curious fellow who dresses and behaves in a strange way. He suddenly drops from the sky with his parachute. Just where can you find him?
- Great Fairy: her beauty is simply beathtaking. She claims to be able to turn Princess Zelda into a “fashionable lady”. She lives somewhere in Hyrule, so why don’t you go and try to find her?
Speaking of Link and Ganon, here’s some pictures of their fateful battle:
