Splatoon: official artbook to be released in October in Japan

A couple of weeks ago, we learned that Nintendo would release the official soundtrack for Splatoon in October in Japan. But it looks like this will not be the only Splatoon-related item to be released that month in Japan, as Famitsu just revealed that the official artbook would also be available for purchase in October.

As you can imagine, the artbook will contain plenty of artworks for the characters themselves, but also the world of Splatoon as a whole, and more. Fans who buy it will get over 300 pages filled with artworks, rough sketches and other production documents. As for the cover of the artbook, it was drawn by Seita Inoue, the Art Director of Splatoon.

Here’s some details for the artbook:

  • Publisher: Kadokawa-Dwango
  • Pages: 320 (B5 size)
  • Price: 2400 Yen + taxes (roughly €18 / $20 / £13)
  • Release date: October 10th

We should get more details about the artbook itself in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, coming out this Thursday in Japan. In the mean time, here’s the usual preview:
