[E3 2016] NX: for Reggie, it’s “all about content”, not specs

NINTENDO_LOGOJust how powerful will the mysterious NX platform be? It’s pretty hard to say at the moment, unless you happen to have access to a development kit. And in an interview with Bloomberg (which can be found there), Reggie Fils-Aimé simply evaded the question, which isn’t too surprising given Nintendo hasn’t even revealed the platform yet.

He explained that for Nintendo, it was “all about content”, and not so much specs, teraflops, or anything like that. It’s been Nintendo’s official stance for several generations now, as the company has even stopped sharing detailed specs about it systems a long time ago.

For him, Nintendo’s goal is to bring the best content to its platforms: Wii U, 3DS, NX. The company prefers to leave Microsoft and Sony fight in their “red ocean”, in reference to the specs race we witness every generation.

Later in the interview, Reggie Fils-Aimé was asked whether there would be in dip in sales as people are waiting for the new system(s) to come out (not to mention the intense competition). Unsurprisingly, Reggie’s answer was a simple “no”. According to him, if quality is there, then sales will be there too.

Make sure to check out the full interview on Bloomberg!
