Nintendo Switch 2: some more commercials
With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 fast approaching, and pre-orders kicking off this week in North America (and Japan!), Nintendo has shared a couple more commercials for its brand new console.
The first one features a celebrity: Paul Rudd. It focuses on Mario Kart World and GameChat specifically.
Step up to a new kind of experience and play super together with friends over GameChat, only on Nintendo Switch 2. Coming 6.5.2025.
While Nintendo frequently features celebrities (actors, singers, sportsmen and sportswomen, etc.) in its commercials in all regions (not just the US), this one actor wasn’t chosen simply because of his being famous. Indeed, Paul Rudd previously appeared in a commercial for another Nintendo console… the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. That was back in 1991!
Nintendo even uploaded the original commercial on its YouTube channel, for those looking for a quick trip down memory lane:
Step back into 1991 and watch the official Super Nintendo Entertainment System launch commercial featuring Paul Rudd.
Nintendo Switch Online members get access to Super Nintendo Entertainment System games such as F-Zero, Pilotwings, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on their Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
Finally, the second Nintendo Switch 2 commercial from Nintendo of America is fairly straightforward, and introduce the console itself and its key features:
Witness the system’s powerful processing speeds delivering visuals never seen before on a Nintendo system via a bigger screen showcasing vibrant color and clarity. Discover reimagined Joy-Con™ 2 controllers that snap to the system with magnetic connectors and can each be used as a mouse in compatible games. From compatible Nintendo Switch games to Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games – connect and play with friends and family in surprising new ways!
The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5th worldwide.
