Nintendo: somes additional sales data for current Fiscal Year, million-sellers, best-sellers

For the Nine Months Ended December 2016, Nintendo has a total of 6 million-sellers, and unsurprisingly, all of them are on Nintendo 3DS. We have the usual suspects (Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon Sun and Moon, and Pokémon X and Y), but also some evergreen titles like Mario Kart 7. As for Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, it sold more in Japan than in Europe and North America combined.

  • Pokémon Sun and Moon — 14.69 million units worldwide (3.81 million units in Japan, 10.88 million units in the rest of the world);
  • Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS — 2.01 million units worldwide (1.04 million units in Japan, 970 000 units in the rest of the world);
  • Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire —  1.84 million units worldwide (180 000 units in Japan, 1.66 million units in the rest of the world), 13.68 million units since launch;
  • Mario Kart 7 — 1.56 million units worldwide (90 000 units in Japan, 1.47 million units in the rest of the world), 14.82 million units since launch;
  • Pokémon X and Y — 1.36 million units worldwide (70 000 units in Japan, 1.29 million units in the rest of the world), 16.06 million units since launch;
  • Kirby: Planet Robobot — 1.32 million units worldwide (580 000 units in Japan, 740 000 units in the rest of the world).

Next, here’s the latest sales data for the Wii U and the 3DS (but also the Wii and the Nintendo DS):

  • Wii U Hardware: 200 000 units
  • Wii U Software: 4.17 million units
  • Nintendo 3DS Hardware: 3.73 million units
  • Nintendo 3DS Software: 27.56 million units
  • Wii Software: 1.19 million units
  • Nintendo DS Software: 70 000 units.
