Kirby: Planet Robobot – Website update (Kirby’s 3D Challenge, footage)

Kirby Planet RobobotToday, Nintendo updated the official website for Kirby: Planet Robobot, which comes out in a little over a month in Japan (on April 28th to be precise). A new section was opened, featuring two “sub-games” (or mini-games): Team Kirby Clash (shown during the Nintendo Direct, earlier this month), and Kirby’s 3D Challenge (which is brand new).

Let’s start with Kirby’s 3D Challenge, which is only playable in Single Player. You get to control Kirby in 3D arenas, and your goal is quite simple: get rid of all the enemies. Of course, simply killing them won’t do: you also have to make combos, and aim for highest score possible. The gameplay footage below shows that you don’t only get to fight regular enemies: there’s also bosses to defeat.

To defeat enemies, you need to gobble them up like you would in a regular Kirby game. After that, you need to spit the enemy you gobbled up at the others: to get combos, you need to hit as many of them as possible in a single shot. In other words, you need to aim carefully before spitting them out!

As for Team Kirby Clash, the website doesn’t allow us to learn anything really new about it. Here’s what we wrote about it following the Nintendo Direct:

For players looking for some multiplayer fun, Kirby: Planet Robobot has a separate mode called Team Kirby Clash, where up to 4 players (who have to chose among 4 different roles) go tackle co-op quests with bosses to defeat.

By completing quests, you get XP: gather enough, and you will level up, allowing you to tackle even more difficult quests. During battles, if you manage to gather all the tablets, you will be able to launch a powerful Team Meteor attack. Team Kirby Clash is compatible with Download Play (1 copy of the game for 4 players).

Finally, here’s some screencaps from the official website:

Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS) comes out on April 28th in Japan, and June 10th in Europe and North America.
