Publishers
In September, Nintendo was once again the most successful publisher in Japan with around 453.000 units sold. Sales did take a hit after the end of the summer holidays, but thanks to the successful launch of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, said drop was more limited than expected. As usual, the various evergreen titles contributed a good chunk of this month’s sales (around 2/3).
Capcom was #2 in September with around 159.000 units sold. Most of those sales come from the recently released Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Finally, Konami dropped to #3 with around 67.000 units sold.
Hardware
This month again, Nintendo Switch 2 was the best-selling console in Japan. It saw another drop in sales in September, with 119,000 units sold. However, the tracking period for that month had one less week than in August, so technically, sales are stable month on month.
- Nintendo Switch 2 – 119.161 (previous month: 139.165)
- PlayStation 5 – 32.831 (previous month: 43.810)
