[Japan] Famitsu sales for CY 2022 (Top 100 Software, Hardware, more)
Famitsu have shared their latest report on video games sales in Japan, covering the Calendar Year 2022 (to be more precise, the period going from December 27th 2021 to December 25th 2022, so 52 weeks in total).
Software
Unsurprisingly, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was the best-selling game in 2022 with over 4 million units sold, which is a notable increase compared to Pokémon Sword and Shield during its launch year (2 988 000 units sold). Splatoon 3 was the second best-selling game, with sales far outpacing those of its predecessor: only 4 months after launch, it’s already sold over 3 million units at retail alone.
