Europe: video games sales for Week 40 (UK) / Week 39 (France), more
United Kingdom (Week 40)
This week, Paper Mario: Color Splash is off to a surprisingly good debut… for a Wii U game. It landed at #8, below new releases and popular titles that came out in the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it will most likely drop like a rock next week, and leave the Top 40 within a week or two (unless sales are better than expected). It’s the best-selling Wii U game this week, since it’s the only one in the Top 40.
On Nintendo 3DS, the best-selling game is still New Super Mario Bros. 2, which actually gain 1 place this week: it’s not ranked #26. As for Tomodachi Life, it gained 10 places at once (ranked #30), while Pokémon Omega Ruby is more modest with 7 places gained (ranked #32). Finally, Mario Kart 7 makes its comeback at #34.

France video games sales (Week 38)
This week, there isn’t a single game on a Nintendo platform in the Top 5. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past isn’t even the best-selling game on Nintendo 3DS, since Yo-kai Watch is back at #1. For some reason, the Limited Edition with the exclusive medal is listed separately from the regular version… On Wii U, the best-selling game is Minecraft: Wii U Edition.
