[TGS 15] Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse getting a physical release in Japan

Quite a while ago, WayForward confirmed that Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse would come out in Japan, and after many months of waiting, we finally have a concrete release date! It was announced today on the first day of Tokyo Game Show 2015, with Matt Bozon traveling all the way to Japan for this occasion.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse will come out on November 19th in Japan, as “Shantae -Kaizoku no Noroi-” (a direct translation of the English title, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse). But unlike in Europe and North America, the game will not be a Nintendo eShop exclusive… it will get a physical release, courtesy of Integrow (who is publishing the game in Japan).

This physical version of Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse will cost 4 200 Yen + taxes (roughly €31 / £22 / $35). Unfortunately, we don’t know if it will include any bonuses to make up for the significantly higher price. We also don’t know if the Nintendo eShop version will also cost the same price, or if it will be cheaper.

Here’s some screenshots from the Japanese version of the game (and a photo of Matt Bozon):
