Notice: change regarding the Front Page

Hello everyone!

Starting today, we’re changing the way posts are displayed on the front page.

Until now, we displayed all posts in their entirety on the front page, but starting today, we’re only going to display the title, the featured image, and a summary. We’re doing this for two main reasons:

  • to reduce loading on the front page (especially important when there’s lots of posts with videos)
  • to know exactly what our readers are reading. With the previous system, unless you clicked on a link (from Twitter / Facebook, a forum, etc.), we weren’t able to know what you were reading. Did you skip that Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE trailer? Did you read every word of that post with new details about Kirby: Planet Robobot? Were you frothing at the mouth when you were checking out those The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild screenshots?

Starting today, you will have to click on the title of a post (or Read More) in order to check out posts. Naturally, we’re aware that some users prefer to have as few clicks as possible when browsing, which is why we’re planning to implement infinite scrolling in the (near) future. Unfortunately, this may take a little while, as that would imply switching to a theme compatible with that feature.

As usual, if you have any comments/suggestions, please make sure to let us know via comments, Twitter / Facebook, or even email. If there’s anything you don’t like (or like) with how we’re doings things, we would like really like to hear from you.

Thank you very much for your understanding and your support!
