Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: 500 000 units for the 1st shipment in Japan, 3DS Theme

Update

We added some details about the early-purchase bonus for players who will buy the game on the Nintendo eShop: a Nintendo 3DS Theme!

***

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is a spin-off from the Animal Crossing series, in which you have to design the home of various animals, but also public buildings and much more. The game is compatible with the very first amiibo cards, which are based on the Animal Crossing series: those are actually central to the gameplay, though not mandatory.

In Japan, Nintendo will include one card with each copy of the game (regular edition and the bundle with the NFC adapter), but only for the first shipment. And today, the company has put a notice on its website, to indicate that there would be a total of 500 000 units (both versions, excluding the New Nintendo 3DS XL bundle) for that very first shipment.

In other words, if you’re interested in the bonus Animal Crossing amiibo card, you need to place a pre-order as soon as possible (if you haven’t done so already).Nintendo mentions that if you’ve already placed one, you should get your bonus Animal Crossing amiibo card (if you haven’t, you’d better hurry!). Unfortunately, we don’t know how long it will be possible to order a copy with an amiibo card.

Let’s just hope Nintendo will have enough copies of the game itself available on Day 1!

Animal Crossing Happy Home DesignerIf you’re planning to get the game on the Nintendo eShop, you obviously don’t have to worry about any of that.

That being said, Nintendo will provide a first-print bonus for the digital version of the game: a special Nintendo 3DS Theme! The code (displayed on the screen after the purchase) will be redeemable until August 31st, and the theme itself will be sold separately starting September 1st. That way, even if you’re planning to get the physical version of the game, you will be able to get this theme!
