Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland
Yesterday, Koei-Tecmo announced a brand new game in the Atelier series (and more precisely the Arland sub-series), called Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. The good news for western fans of the series is that it didn’t take long for the company to announce their European and North American release!
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland will be released this Spring in Europe and North America. Quite interestingly, Koei-Tecmo did not provide a release window for Japan, but it’s guaranteed to come out in that region first.
This new game in the Arland sub-series takes place several years after the events of Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, and follows the story of Elmerulia Fryxell: an “energetic and positive young girl, who studies alchemy diligently to live up to the legacy of her mother – the famous Rorona Fryxell”. She’s supported by Eva Armster, her childhood friend, who helps her fulfill her dream and become a renowned alchemist.
As expected, this new game features plenty of old characters, and old areas to explore again; a real treat for fans of the series! If you’re yet to play any of the game from the Arland sub-series, don’t forget they’re releasing on December 4th on the Nintendo eShop!
But this new game isn’t all about old stuff: there’s also all-new synthesis, exploration, and battle systems, combined with the familiar systems from the Arland sub-series. It’s a game that brings the best of the Arland trilogy together with the new systems from the “Mysterious” series (that Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings is part of).
