Top 5 Software
For the 4th month in a row, Mario Kart World was the best-selling game in Japan with over 145,000 units sold.
As for Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots, it landed at #3 with over 45,000 units sold. A respectable debut, though sales in subsequent weeks were rather soft. The two versions combined sold around 67.000 units, making this game the best-selling new entry in September.
Meanwhile, Donkey Kong Bananza dropped to #4, and sold a little over 40,000 units. It’s been enjoying relatively healthy sales since launch, which bodes well for the upcoming holidays season.
As for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the two versions combined sold over 49.000 units. Unfortunately, none manage to land a spot in the Top 5 Software.
Finally, the Nintendo Switch version of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar did something rather unusual: it managed to chart in the Top 5 during its second month, after missing it during its launch month.
It enjoyed remarkable strong sales during that second month: 33,000 units sold, which is roughly half what both versions sold in August. Of course, those strong sales are (partly) due to the fact that it launched during the very last week of August, with a good chunk of sales spilling into September as a result.

Publishers
Once again, Nintendo was the most successful publisher in Japan with over 360.000 units sold. Seeing that no new game was released at retail in September, those sales come exclusively from “recent” releases on Nintendo Switch 2 and the usual evergreen titles on Nintendo Switch.
Meawnhile, Bandai-Namco ranked #2 with 129.000 units sold. Most of those sales come from recent releases, namely, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots and Super Robot Wars Y.
