[Japan] Splatoon: Nintendo releasing two diorama kits for amiibo in July

Update

In Japan, Amazon is going to release a special bundle including:

  • both diorama kits
  • all 5 new Splatoon amiibo
  • exclusive stickers

***

Last month, Nintendo released two diorama kits for amiibo in Japan. There was one for Kirby: Planet Robobot, and one for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. And it looks like Nintendo is planning to release more of those in the future, as two more were announced earlier today.

This time around, it’s the Splatoon amiibo which are meant to be showcased with those diorama kits (though obviously, you’re free to use pretty much any figure you want). They both cost 1 080 Yen (including tax), and will be released on July 7th (on the same day as the Squid Sisters and alt. coloured Splatoon amiibo).

Here’s the two sets:

  • Squid Sisters stage. You can insert a Nintendo 3DS console in the diorama in order to have videos displayed on the “screen”… such as one of the two Squid Sisters live performances, for example! Naturally, you’re free to display whichever video you want. Nintendo recommends you use a New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 3DS XL, or a smartphone with a 5-inch screen.
  • the Kelp Dome stage.

Naturally, the diorama kits do not come with any amiibo (and in the case of the Squid Sisters stage, a smartphone). They do come with some stickers, though!

Here’s some pictures for both diorama kits:

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Nintendo is interested in bringing any diorama kits to Europe and North America, let alone those two.
