The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild livestream scheduled for December 12th (Japan)

Today, Nintendo announced that they would host a livestream about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on NicoNico, on December 12th. It will have a couple special guests, such as Ichirou Izuki (a big fan of the series who has cleared absolutely all the Shrines in the game), and Ruriko Aoki.

During this livestream, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be showcased, and there will be a segment called “Player’s Voice”. As the name implies, it’s a segment where players will be able to share their experience with the game, let it be memories of their time spent in Hyrule, anecdotes about things that happened to them while playing, interesting things they found while exploring, etc.

If you know Japanese, you can write about your experience with the game on this website, but only until December 8th. If you’re lucky, your message will end up in the livestream!

Here’s when the livestream takes place, on December 12th:

  • Europe: 1PM
  • UK: 12PM
  • North America (ET): 7AM
  • North America (PT): 4AM
  • Japan: 9PM

You will be able to watch it on NicoNico (no YouTube option, but it’s possible the recording of the livestream will be uploaded there at a later date).

Given the timing of that livestream, it’s tempted to think the second DLC Pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Champions’ Ballad, will be revealed or showcased there, but it’s highly unlikely. There’s two reasons for that:

  • it’s a livestream aimed exclusively at a Japanese audience (though of course, there’s nothing that prevents you from watching it!), and it’s unlikely something as anticipated as the second DLC pack will be revealed there;
  • Nintendo doesn’t mention or even teases such a reveal in the program page, and they definitely would if the DLC was to be revealed there;
  • (Bonus reason) the livestream is all about showing the appeal of the game to players who are yet to play it.

In fact, it’s much more likely the DLC Pack 2 will be revealed at the Game Awards, next week, though Nintendo hasn’t announced or even hinted at anything (yet?).
