Borderlands 4: gameplay overview, Official Character Short, and Beyond the Borderlands video for Amon
Gearbox and Take-Two have shared several new videos for Borderlands 4. Three of them focus on Amon the Forgeknight.
Here’s the gameplay overview video showcasing what Amon is capable of:
Amon is the Forgeknight of Borderlands 4, a resilient and highly customizable frontliner who can use his weaponized drones to adapt to any situation. His Forge arsenal lets him attack or defend as needed, ready to pulverize enemies with a Forgehammer, slice them in twain with Forgeaxes, soak up damage with a Forgeshield, and much, much more.
And here’s Amon’s Official Character Short, “Demons”:
Amon was raised in a Vault monster-worshipping cult—until the Vault was opened and the creature turned on everyone he loved. As the only survivor, he dedicates his life to finding and killing as many of these beasts as he can. He is a warrior-poet—introspective and unflinching to his duty—but despite his hardened appearance, he has a warm attitude, often regaling comrades in arms with stories and advice earned throughout his travels.
And finally, the third video is the latest entry in the Beyond the Borderlands series:
BEYOND THE BORDERLANDS #8: Designing Amon gives a behind-the-scenes look at how we brought Borderlands’ largest Vault Hunter to life for Borderlands 4.
Amon was raised in a Vault monster-worshipping cult—until the Vault was opened and the creature turned on everyone he loved. As the only survivor, he dedicates his life to finding and killing as many of these beasts as he can. Amon, a warrior-poet, is introspective and unflinching to his duty, but despite his hardened appearance, he has a warm attitude, often regaling comrades in arms with stories and advice earned throughout his travels.
The fourth and final video is from 2K Japan, and show how Borderlands 4 was inspired by Japanese games:
“I am a game maker because of Japan.” says Randy Pitchford. From the first time playing Donkey Kong, to discovering Japanese magic, Pitchford talks about how games, culture, and collaboration shaped his career and how those same influences are woven into the next Borderlands adventure.
This video from 2K Japan explores Pitchford’s passion for craftsmanship and storytelling. He reflects on those roots and how they inspire Borderlands 4’s core theme of freedom vs. order, its fully explorable seamless world, and the artistry that connects game design and magic.
Borderlands 4 (Switch 2) comes out on October 3rd worldwide.
