Card-en-Ciel Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announced for January

Inti Creates has announced its second Nintendo Switch 2 title (following Majogami): Card en Ciel Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. It will launch on January 29th worldwide, with a retail release planned in Japan (more details about that below).

This version will feature the usual set of now-familiar improvements:

• increased framerates for smoother gameplay
• 4k resolution mode
• Joy-Con 2 mouse controls

Card-en-Ciel is a roguelite, card battling RPG featuring over 300 cards and 50 songs. Players take control of Neon, the “Gaming Chair Detective”, as he investigates an in-development VR game where characters from other games are running amok. To solve this myustery, he’ll have to dive into dungeons related to these fictional games.

In the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition, enjoy increased framerates for smoother gameplay, as well as a 4k resolution mode for higher quality visuals.

Mouse support has also been added, allowing players to swap to mouse controls at any time by changing the position of the Joy-Con™ 2. This freedom of control will allow you to explore dungons in controller mode, and swap to mouse controls for the turn-based card battles.

Card-en-Ciel Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will launch on January 29th, and several editions/purchase options will be available:

• Full game (digital): $34.99 / 4,480 Yen
• Full game (retail): 5,940 Yen

• Limited Edition (retail): 11,990 Yen

And that’s not all! Inti Creates has also announced that Card-en-Ciel is getting an expansion pass (included in the physical releases in Japan, but not with either the digital version or the Upgrade Pack), bringing new content to the game on both platforms.

It’s expected to cost 1,000 Yen, and includes the following:

• Purchase bonus: an exclusive card
• DLC Wave 1:
  • Additional dungeon based on Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark (includes new scenarios)
  • Additional cards based on Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark
  • Additional divas based on Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark
  • Additional random events Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark
• DLC Wave 2: details TBA
