Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS will feature a Camera Mode

As the release date for the Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on Nintendo 3DS gets nearer, more details are being revealed on a regular basis. Today, it was announced that this Nintendo 3DS version of the game would include a “Camera Mode” (that you can access at any time during gameplay by pressing the Start button.

This mode allows you to take a screenshot of what is currently displayed on (top) screen, which is then stored on the SD Card. You can also take commemorative pictures of your party, with each character taking a special pose. But that’s not all: the game also features a special area called “Photographer Fort”, with NPC from whom you can take special quests. In those quests, you have to go take pictures of rare monsters and hidden items in the game.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (3DS) comes out on August 27th in Japan.
