Yo-kai Watch: next issue of CoroCoro to have a “shocking scoop”

It’s been almost two years since the release of Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi / Tempura in Japan, and it looks like an announcement for the next mainline entry is coming pretty soon… as early as next month, in fact.

Indeed, the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine, to be released on Thursday, teases a “shocking scoop” for the May issue, to be released on April 15th (this Thursdayà. Unfortunately, there are no further details available at the moment: in fact, it’s not even guaranteed this tease is for a game at all.

However, it’s now been (almost) two years since the last mainline game, so a new game for 2018 is pretty likely, especially with the new anime series (Yo-kai Watch: Shadow Side) debuting in April.

What’s more, an announcement in the next issue of CoroCoro magazine would fit with the usual pattern: reveal of the new game in the May issue of CoroCoro magazine (in mid-April), and then release in July in Japan. Right now, there is no way to know for which platform(s) the game will be, but Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS are the most likely candidates. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet!

As soon as we have further details (most likely when the magazine is released, on Thursday), we will either update this post, or have a new one… stay tuned!
