Xenoblade Chronicles 2: all the details, pictures from the official Twitter account (Oct. 13th – Nov. 6th)

After Splatoon 2, ARMS, and even Super Mario Odyssey, it’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s turn to get regular updates via Twitter. And naturally, just like with the aforementionned games, we’re going to gather all the details, pictures, GIFs, videos, etc. in a single post… yes, this one!

This post only contains the details, pictures, etc., for the period going from October 13th to November 6th. For all the latest updates, make sure to check out this post instead!

November 5th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Idaten. It’s a really unique Blade, that happens to be quite… round. It’s does look quite cute, but also pretty odd at the same time (it certainly is unlike any other Rare Blade!). It was designed by I-IV, and is voiced by Aya Hirano.

November 4th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Musubi. She does look like some sort of Goddess. She was designed by Kia Asamiya, and Miki Takahashi is the one voicing her.

November 3rd

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Zakuro. Her attribute is lightning, and in fact, she attacks using lightning bolt-shaped claws. Shunya Yamashita is the one who designed her, and Chinatsu Akasaki is her voice actress.

November 2nd

Today, Monolith Soft. shared a picture of three wonderful Nopons… or rather, their plushies. Oh, and there’s also that Nintendo Switch running the game, but really, all you should be looking at is the Nopons… you just looked at the console and the title screen, didn’t you.

Also, Nintendo has revealed the English name of Shin and Metsu (the two members of Torna): it’s Jin and Malos. Here’s a screenshot of Malos:

November 1st

Today, Monolith Soft. shared a screenshot of the title screen of the Japanese version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (obviously, the European and North American one will be exactly the same, but with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 instead of Xenoblade 2). Only one month left until release!

October 31st

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Yuuou (English name TBC). As you can see in the video clip below, this Rare Blade uses the power of Water… He even has actual fins on his back and his limbs. Overall, it’s a pretty graceful Blade! Yuuou was designed by Soraya Saga, and is voiced by Tomoaki Maeno.

October 30th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some screenshots and details for the battle system. Even if you use the same type of weapon, the type of Driver Art at your disposal change is not the same depending on the Driver you’re controlling. The screenshot below show the player controll Rex and Nia with Raiko’s hammer. It’s up to you to chose the adequate combination of Driver + character, depending on the situation and the enemies you are facing.

Also, Nintendo revealed the English name of a previously-revealed Rare Blade: Poppi, the articifial Blade created by Tora.

October 27th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Nyuutsu (English name/spelling TBC). It’s a military-style Blade, with giant, muscular floating arms. Her strength with the sword really is something else. She was designed by Takeshi Nogami, and Youko Hikasa is the one voicing her.

October 26th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some pictures and details for Bana, the President of the Argentum Trade Guild (voiced by Akio Otsuka). He’s a pretty skilled business man, who never misses a business opportunity. He’s also a pretty… imposing Nopon: he’s twice larger than Tora!

October 25th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared a screenshot and some details for the Argentum Trade Guild. The screenshot shows what the guild looks like from the outside. There are plenty of shops to be found in that ship, which is carried by that giant balloon-shaped Titan Argentum.

October 24th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Shiki. As you can notice, she has… well… nothing where her stomach should be. She was designed by Kouji Ogata, and Mamiko Noto is the one voicing her.

October 23rd

Today, Monolith Soft. shared a couple of screenshots, showing Gormott (one of the Titans, where the Imperial Province of Gormott is found). To be more precise, the screenshots show its dorsal fin, that you can see moving slowly in-game. At night, it emits a rather mesmerizing glow, which is quite striking against the starry sky in the background!

October 20th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Tokiha. She was designed by Takahiro Kimura (with colouring by RICCA), and Ami Koshimizu is the one voicing her. She has a pretty dignified look, and she uses a three-pronged spear as weapon.

October 19th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced two members of Tora, the secret organisation that is trying to capture Pyra, presumably in order to reach the Aegis. They are:

  • Shin (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai). A mysterious masked swordsman, who always appear calm and collected. That being said, he’s ready to do anything to reach his goals, and he seems to be hiding some sort of secret…
  • Metsu (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura). He’s a giant of a man, with a rough personality… quite the opposite of Shin! His skills as Driver are without pair.

October 18th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared a few screenshots showcasing a specific aspect of event scenes. Those take place in real time, so the time of day and the weather are reflected. In the screenshot below, you can see the same event scene during the day and during the night. The third screenshot seems to be a drawing of Nia… presumably what she’s reacting to during the event scene.

By the way, Nia’s line reads like this: “Wait, what is this?! Is that supposed to be… me?”

October 17th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade: Raiko. She was designed by Asato Mizu (author of the Denkigai no Honya-san manga, and she’s voiced by Himika Akenaya. Since her name is pretty close to one of the words used for “lightning” in Japanese (雷光, Raikou), it’s no wonder her element happens to be lightning… though her design already made that pretty obvious!

Also, here’s the English version of previously-released screenshot:

October 16th

Today, Monolith Soft. shared some details and screenshots for Dromarch, Nia’s Blade. When you’re exploring the world as Nia (you can choose which character you’re controlling, just like in the previous two Xenoblade Chronicles games), you can actually hop on Dromarch and have him carry you around on his back. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you cannot do the same with any of the other characters… sorry Rex, you will have to run!

October 13th

Today, Monolith Soft. introduced another Rare Blade, called Uka (designed by Nakaba Higurashi. Voiced by M・A・O). She has what seems to be two dragon-like foxes on her back.
