Wargroove: Commander Spotlight (#1 Mercia)

Wargroove is a turn-based strategy game, that looks like a mix between Fire Emblem and Advance Wars. It will be released on the Nintendo Switch (and other platforms) later this year, and will even offer local and online multiplayer (for up to 4 players).

At the very heart of  Wargroove, we find the Commanders: special characters with their own personalities and motivations. Not only can you use them as your avatars in-game, they also act as powerful units on the field. You need to pay particular attention to them, because if they happen to fall in battle, then that battle is lost.

And yesterday, the developers began introducing the various commanders in Wargroove. In this post, you will find all the “Commander Spotlights” for the game!

Wargroove – Character Spotlight #1: Mercia

Queen Mercia is the young daughter of King Mercival II, the legendary and beloved ruler of the Cherrystone Kingdom. She is well-meaning, but inexperienced in the matters of diplomacy. Much more comfortable on the battlefield than on the throne, she hopes she can use her energetic and fearless spirit to rule the country she has now inherited, and gain the respect of those around her.

In battle, Mercia charges in with her mighty greatsword. It probably isn’t a great idea to underestimate her based on her friendly demeanour…

Wargroove (Switch – eShop) will be released later this year in Europe and North America.
