Ultra Street Fighter II: trailer and unlock code for Shin Akuma

Last week, Capcom released an update for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challenges on the Nintendo Switch (click here for more details). Unfortunately, since there was no official patch notes, everyone assumed it was simply bringing bug fixes and balance changes… but it turns out there was more to this update than meets the eye!

Last week, during a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom revealed that Shin Akuma had been added to the game, as a secret character. If you want to play with him, you first need to unlock him. But how do you unlock him, exactly? Well, you need to enter a special code in-game.

Now, you’re probably wondering about how it even works, since there’s nothing like a password screen in the game. The thing is, the code is in fact a series of command, you have to enter on the character select screen. And it’s definitely not something anyone could have found out by themselves…

Here’s what you have to do to unlock Shin Akuma as a playable character in Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers on the Nintendo Switch:

• Select Ryu, cancel on Colour 1
• Select Ken, cancel on Colour 9
• Select Sagat, cancel on Colour 8
• Select M. Bison cancel on Colour 7
• Place the cursor on Random, press L & R at the same time
