The Snack World: TreJarers – More details, boxart

Today, Level-5 updated the official website for The Snack World: TreJarers, providing even more information about the game (click here for the previous report).

The Snack World: TreJarers – TreJarers introduction

In this game, you get to go on grand adventure, where you will find some pretty rare items. As explained last time, you alternate between two phases: those you spend at your Base, and those where you go explore Dungeons. Here’s what you do during each one:

  • Base: you prepare yourself before heading to a dungeon. Make sure you have the right equipment, and all the items you need!
  • Dungeons: explore those in order to find the treasure that lies deep inside.

Here’s some of the elements that make up the game:

  • Quests: there’s plenty of them for you to tackle. For example, there’s one that you receive directly from Princess Merola, where you need to go to a dungeon in order to defeat a boss named Dullahan. It’s time for adventure!
  • Dungeons: their layout changes every time you enter them. You need to explore every nook and cranny in order to find rare items. We get to see some examples: a mysterious tomb (with some train tracks inside, and giant doors with a boss lying in wait behind), a mine, a mysterious temple, and even a forest;
  • Battles (in dungeons): the battle system is pretty simple… there’s only one button to use! You can press that button to attack with a sword, use a spell with a staff, or defend yourself with a shield. And as explained last time, when in battle, the Jara (weapon) you choose is pretty important, so you really need to think carefully before picking one. After all, just like in many other games, certain enemies are weak against certain weapons, and are strong against others. In other words, you have to pick the right Jara for the right enemies!
  • Bosses: there’s always one lying in wait at the end of a dungeon. Naturally, bosses are much stronger than regular enemies, and you need to be prepared for some pretty fierce battles. We’re shown a couple of examples: Dullahan (a headless centaur), Kraken (who lives… in the desert, of all places!)

Another dungeon to be found in the game is the Heavy Temple, guarded by a terrible boss: Medusa. Rumours has it she has managed to defeat even some elite troops, by turning them into stone with her piercing glare. The screenshots below show the team fighting a bunch of slimes, finding a suspicious door, and more.

The Snack World: TreJarers – Avatar

As revealed last time, the protagonist is no longer Chap, but instead of an avatar that you get to create yourself. You’re free to chose the various “elements”: hair, eyes, etc..

The Snack World: TreJarers – Towns

French Toaster is the name of the town where you adventure begins. It looks like your typical fantasy town at first glance… that is, until you notice the convenience store, the cafés, the vending machines, and various things that are completely out of place in a fantasy world.

French Toaster is where the castle (where the King lives) is located. It’s a rather peaceful town with rivers, surrounded by greenery. Naturally, there’s shops to be found there, including one selling weapons.

The Snack World: TreJarers – Monsters

Here’s some new monsters revealed today:

  • Cyclops
  • Golem
  • Sylph-san
  • Kobolt

The Snack World: TreJarers – Jaras Brand

The various Jaras belong to various brands, which all have their own specificities. Here’s the three new brands revealed today:

  • Qloris: Jaras with pretty simple design, perfect for people of all ages and gender;
  • Flying Cat: the logo is meant to look like cat paws. A brand that caters to young people, and has a pretty good reputation;
  • Phantom: offers various magical items. Caters to adults and little devil girls who have grown tired of mainstream fashion.
