Those Piranha Plant always attack Mario when gets a bit too close, but do they try to attack Princess Peach?

August 9th

Over the past few days, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip of Mechawiggler, a mech version of Wiggler

  • a video clip of Mario, swimming. You can keep swimming as long as Mario doesn’t run out of breath, like in previous games. By the way, you can swim breatstroke, if you want to go faster!

  • another video clip of Mario swimming, but this time as a Captured Cheep-Cheep. Not only it allows you to swim faster, but you also don’t have to worry about running out of breath!

  • a screenshot of the Cascade Kingdom, and more precisely the Fossil Falls (sometimes referred to as “the last holdout of history”;
  • an artwork of a Captured Cheep-Cheep. As a Cheep-Cheep, Mario can swim much faster in the water.

August 7th

Today, Nintendo shared a video clip of The Odyssey, and more precisely the ramp used to get on board / exit it. During flight, it stays folded, and only unfolds when The Odyssey has landed.

August 4th

Today, Nintendo shared a screenshot that shows Mario capturing a New Donker. When you’ve captured one, you can control a RC Car, which are apparently used in some mini-game of some sort (we can see a Power Moon in the back, and it’s clear you need the RC Car to do it). By the way, it looks like RC Car driving is considered a sport in New Donk City!

Also, Nintendo confirms that you can capture pretty any enemy/NPC that is not wearing a hat (no capturing Pauline, then!).

August 3rd

Today, Nintendo shared a well-known screenshot, that shows Mario standing next to a man in New Donk City. The people living in that city are known as New Donkers, and they all dress rather smartly. Men wears a full suit, complete with a pretty stylish hat.

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a video clip showing Mario falling from a tall building… and not taking damage. Granted, Mario will shake and feel numb a few seconds (with some great animations), but no damage!

July 27th

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • an illustration showing Mario capturing a Goomba
  • a short video clip, showing Mario capturing… a taxi, of all things, and then taking off. At this point, Nintendo is going to have to list things you cannot capture in this game!

July 26th

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a screenshot that shows Mario after capturing electric wires… yes, he can capture those! This allows him to zip through those wires and climb things such as buildings at light electric speed!

July 25th

Today, Nintendo shared the following:

  • a screenshot of the crazy cap worn by Crazy Cap clerks in the flagship store of each country. That cap sure lives to the name of the stores!
