Super Mario Odyssey: all the details, pictures, GIFs, videos from the official Twitter accounts [July 24th – August 13th]
Just like Splatoon 2 and ARMS, Nintendo started sharing regular updates for Super Mario Odyssey on Twitter (via the brand new Super Mario account), with details, pictures, GIFs, videos, and more. And just like with Splatoon 2 and ARMS, we’re going to round them all in this post, for your viewing convenience!

August 11th
Today is Mountain Day in Japan, and to celebrate, Nintendo shared a picture of Mario going hiking in the Wooded Kingdom. He’s wearing the appropriate clothes too, complete with a nice backpack!
August 10th
Today, Nintendo shared a GIF of the flower bouquet Peach is seen holding in the latest trailer, which is made of flowers cultivated in the Wooded Kingdom, a cute little pink ribbon, and… Pirhana Plants. Those Piranha Plant always attack Mario when gets a bit too close, but do they try to attack Princess Peach?

- a video clip of Mechawiggler, a mech version of Wiggler

- a video clip of Mario, swimming. You can keep swimming as long as Mario doesn’t run out of breath, like in previous games. By the way, you can swim breatstroke, if you want to go faster!

- another video clip of Mario swimming, but this time as a Captured Cheep-Cheep. Not only it allows you to swim faster, but you also don’t have to worry about running out of breath!

- a screenshot of the Cascade Kingdom, and more precisely the Fossil Falls (sometimes referred to as “the last holdout of history”;
- an artwork of a Captured Cheep-Cheep. As a Cheep-Cheep, Mario can swim much faster in the water.
August 7th
Today, Nintendo shared a video clip of The Odyssey, and more precisely the ramp used to get on board / exit it. During flight, it stays folded, and only unfolds when The Odyssey has landed.

August 4th
Today, Nintendo shared a screenshot that shows Mario capturing a New Donker. When you’ve captured one, you can control a RC Car, which are apparently used in some mini-game of some sort (we can see a Power Moon in the back, and it’s clear you need the RC Car to do it). By the way, it looks like RC Car driving is considered a sport in New Donk City!
Also, Nintendo confirms that you can capture pretty any enemy/NPC that is not wearing a hat (no capturing Pauline, then!).
August 3rd
Today, Nintendo shared a well-known screenshot, that shows Mario standing next to a man in New Donk City. The people living in that city are known as New Donkers, and they all dress rather smartly. Men wears a full suit, complete with a pretty stylish hat.
August 2nd
Today, Nintendo shared a video clip of a staple of 3D Mario games: the triple jump. If you time your jumps right, you can reach higher places than with regular jumps!

July 31st
Today, Nintendo shared the following:
- the English name of the lion/taxis found in the Sand Kingdom… They’re known as “Jaxi”!
- a video clip of the globe found on The Odyssey. You can use it to set a destination, and then the ship goes there on autopilot.

July 28th
Today, Nintendo shared the following:
- a video clip showing Mario falling from a tall building… and not taking damage. Granted, Mario will shake and feel numb a few seconds (with some great animations), but no damage!

- an illustration showing Mario capturing a Goomba
- a short video clip, showing Mario capturing… a taxi, of all things, and then taking off. At this point, Nintendo is going to have to list things you cannot capture in this game!

Today, Nintendo shared the following:
- a screenshot that shows Mario after capturing electric wires… yes, he can capture those! This allows him to zip through those wires and climb things such as buildings at
lightelectric speed!

Today, Nintendo shared the following:
- a screenshot of the crazy cap worn by Crazy Cap clerks in the flagship store of each country. That cap sure lives to the name of the stores!
July 24th
Today, Nintendo shared the following:
- a screenshot of Mario with some cacti spines on his nose. You can find some cacti in many places throughout Tostarena, but be careful not to get too close to them. If you do, some of the cacti spines will find a new home… Mario’s nose!
