SteamWorld Dig 2 launching on September 21st; latest trailer and screenshots

During yesterday’s Nindies Summer Showcase, Image & Form finally revealed the release date of the highly-anticipated SteamWorld Dig 2. They initially promised that the game would be released in Summer, but it was ultimately delayed. The good news is, the delay is no big deal after all, as the game will launch on September 21st, the first day of autumn (or the last of Summer, depending on who you ask).

SteamWorld Dig 2 will be twice as expensive as the original: it will cost $19.99/19.99€/£14.99 after all. But one thing to keep in mind is that the game is also much bigger than the original: the developers promise no less than 10 hours of gameplay and multiple boss battles in a “big, sprawling world which you’re free to explore and dig through at your own pace”.

What’s more, those 10 hours do not take into account all the hours spent trying to find every single secrets hidden in the game, because there seems to be a ton of them!

Here’s the latest trailer for the game, revealing/teasing new worlds, enemies, upgrades, and challenges:

And here’s 10 brand new screenshots to make you salivate about your upcoming mining adventures:

Want to see more of SteamWorld Dig 2? No problem! Image & Form promises that more of the game will be shown in the weeks leading to release, with new details and trailers. Oh, and if you’re at PAX West this week-end, make sure to drop by Nintendo’s booth to try out the game for yourself!

SteamWorld Dig 2 (Switch – eShop) will be released on September 21st in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
