Today, Nintendo also uploaded a trailer for Star Fox Guard. It showcases the online features, and more precisely the enemy patterns you can upload so that other players can play with them. You will find it below!

Star Fox GuardStar Fox Guard came out less than a week ago in Japan, Europe, and North America, but it’s already received its very first (and most likely last) update. This update brings the game to Ver. 20160428 (which is today’s date in the Japanese date format), and naturally, it doesn’t add new features or anything. In fact, it doesn’t even seem to fix any glitches. The only thing it does is modify the value for rank and the number of bots in the squad.

Here’s the official changelog for Ver. 20160428 of Star Fox Guard:

  • Changes the values for calculating rank and the number of bots in the squad (small/normal/big)

Nintendo explains that this update is required to use the online features of the game, but that it will not affect your save data. To download it, you have two options:

  • let the Wii U do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated: you should have the latest version installed the next time you launch the game;
  • if not, you can launch Star Fox Guard from the Home Menu (not the Quick Start Menu), in order to trigger the download manually.
